“What skills do you guys lack?” A question that we may not all understand and think of as a direct question to a manager or supervisor who understands the competence needs of the person working for them. You may receive a valid request from time to time and it may be distorted in certain circumstances. These five questions may make it easier to analyze development needs.
1. What are your business and team’s challenging goals this year and what will be the challenges for next year if you were to forecast?
2. What are your team’s key tasks that empower your business to today’s challenges? What position does it relate to? What abilities are they still missing?
3. How multiple high-performing members helped you tackle those challenges? What are the key abilities they have? What special knowledge do they have?
4. Who on the team would you consider an expert and outstanding talent? Can that person cope with this challenge? In what ways can he teach others?
5. What is knowledge, skills, and their beliefs?
